Elective Courses The law school makes all reasonable efforts to offer the following electives on a periodic basis but cannot guarantee that each course or seminar will be available to all students who wish to take it during their law school careers. More precise information on the courses and seminars that will be offered in a given semester, including those not listed here, is available from the registrar during the preregistration and general registration periods.
	LAW - 973 International Contracts and Sales (2-3 hrs.) Covers the many facets of international commercial sales of goods. The focus of the course is the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna 1980), generally known as the CISG, with comparisons to domestic systems in both the common law (especially Uniform Commercial Code Article 2) and the civil law. The class also covers the payment and credit terms typical in such sales, with particular attention to the laws and practices relating to letters of credit, as well as some treatment of security interests or reservation of title. The course addresses carriage of the goods and the risk of loss to them.
