LAW - 709B Consumer Financial Services Law

Acquaints students with laws and regulations governing consumer financial services, agencies that regulate these activities, and how these laws are enacted, interpreted, and enforced. Consumer finance, including mortgages, credit cards and auto loans, is a multi-trillion dollar industry central to the American economy. We will explore Fintech, RegTech and Supervisory Tech developments as well as the increasing role that AI, including GenAI, are playing in shaping how consumer financial services are offered, purchased, and regulated.
