Return to: Academic Programs
The Washington College of Law and the Kogod School of Business offer a dual LLM/MBA program. Neither degree will be awarded until all requirements for both degrees are completed. This two-year program works to prepare students to be effective international lawyers and responsible business leaders in today’s global world.
Application. Students applying to the LLM/MBA program are not required to take the GMAT or LSAT exam. Candidates for the LLM/MBA dual degree program must qualify for admission to the law school and business school programs and will receive admissions decisions separately. Applicants first apply to the law school. If admitted, the admissions file is then forwarded to the Kogod School of Business for review.
Dual Degree Requirements
Master of Laws and Business: LLM/MBA. All students begin the two-year program in the Kogod School of Business. After successfully completing one immersion year at the Kogod School of Business, students continue for an additional year at the law school. Students must successfully complete sixteen semester hours of law courses and thirty-three semester hours of business courses and the Strategic Decision Making Capstone course. Of the business credits, eight semester credits approved by the law school will be applied to the LLM degree for a total of twenty-four credits for the LLM degree.
